September 30th, 2004I was alive during that period, and the Prez went to the UN and spent
MONTHS trying to get them to get involved. France promised to veto any
security resolution. Kerry may want to get more countries involved …
But France, Germany, and Russia do not WANT to get involved. I really
don’t think they care who is the current American President … They
will not get involved and they will not move troops. What’s Kerry’s plan
when, after getting the job, he asks and Chirac says “no” ???
France, et al. did not want to go to war without concrete justification. That seems like a noble position to me. As we all can see, the WMD thread was not concrete enough of a reason to invade..
That’s not really the point. Kerry keeps saying that he will get “more” international involvement, and that those countries now involved are not enough. The primary countries he is referring to is France, Germany, and Russia. Apparently, if they are not involved then it just isn’t international enough. But, President Chirac has said more then once, that France will not get involved no matter who gets elected. I’d like to hear Kerry’s response to that. What is his big plan for pulling in more nations, especially the three I listed above, when they have specifically stated that they WILL NOT get involved. What’s his “backup” plan?
