Working on other sites
January 26th, 2005Working on other sites
So, it’s been a dog’s age since I updated this site and have received several complaints about that laxity. Well, I have no good reasons but several weak excuses. Primarily, I’ve been working on other websites! I’ve installed XOOPS on a new site for my church and have been (slowly) trying to move all of the old content to the new site. Making it more challenging is it’s disregard of basic HTML and insistence of formatting everything I enter. I’m sure this is a feature to make updates easier, but it’s a pain in the bum when I already have a dozen pages in HTML, that look the way I want. Still, it has to be done.
Further, I’ve got some great ideas for a web based employee schedule application. It just has to allow us to schedule our selves and display the results in an easy to read and understand interface. I’ve done most of the front-end and back-end work, but now need to knit the two together and test it.
Finally, I’ve come to some deep insights about my ongoing ANN-PSO work fantasy. Anyway, my insights should allow me to integrate Particle Swarm Optimization directly into the Artificial Neural Network, so that I don’t need to create two separate module and then inter-relate them. We’ll see … this project has the highest excitement factor but the least priority.
In other news, having 4WD on my truck has made the past week of heavy snow fall, tolerable. I drove home from work at 12:30 AM Sunday morning – and probably shouldn’t have. My truck didn’t slip or anything, but the visibility was so poor I had to crawl at 30 to 40 MPH the entire way. Boy, was I glad to get safely home!
[Don't worry, the next update won't be three months away like this one!]
