March 1st, 2005I arrived in Michigan Sunday, and the flight was uneventfull but tiring. It was packed with an all girls team of “Syncronized Skaters” … something I’ve never heard of. I was able to see everyone I came to see … that night! Talk about the efficient tourist.
Yesterday I ticked off a mouthy sales guy at “CompUSA” who wanted to sell Mom and I one of those extended warranties. I tried gently refusing, then when he went into his little pitch I tried some humor (”I’m allergic to extended warranties!”) and it was that point that he decided this was some macho pissing contest and became mean and upset. In the end, we got what we wanted, and he got the old heave-ho. So much for “mouthy & mean” as a sales tactic.
Today I tried Yoga for the very first time. Apart from being uncomfortably reminded of just how out-of-shape and inflexible I am … I was also surprised by the challenging level of effort that was called on. I was sweating and winded, like an hour of arobics, and this was just from slow movements held poses. I really, really liked it -though. I certainly want to come back and can totally see how Jim has worked this into his daily routine. It’s not exhausting, in fact it invigorates, and it’s healthy and refreshing. Plus, my back has felt better then any time in months!
That’s it for now … I’ll write again when next I have access to the net. “Stay Beautiful!”
